The presence of pain most often indicates an underlying condition that, at the very least, should be diagnosed by one of our doctors. You should never hesitate to contact our office. We are accessible 24/7 to your needs and will always be able to reach out to you via different means of communication available at our practice.

FIRST AID TIPS FOR DENTAL EMERGENCIES
  • Bleeding and swelling in the gums

This is one of the main complaints we receive from our patients. When you see that your gums are bleeding, inflamed and aren’t of health dark pink color, it is a direct result of food being trapped between teeth, periodontal disease and debris accumulation under your gums. To best address this and get your gums nice and healthy contact us to see one of our Registered Dental Hygiene Specialists.

  • Swollen face

Call us immediately. Swollen face is caused by infection and requires immediate placement on course of antibiotics and professional attention. Once you contact us we will be able to get you the right prescriptions to start your course of antibiotics.

  • Toothache

Clean the area around the sore tooth thoroughly. Rinse the mouth vigorously with warm salt water or use dental floss to dislodge trapped food or debris. Do not place aspirin on the gum or on the aching tooth. If the face is swollen, apply a cold compress. Take over the counter pain reliever and call us as soon as possible.

  • Broken Tooth

Rinse dirt from the injured area with warm water. Place cold compresses over the face in the area of the injury.. Call us immediately.

  • Loose/Broken Crown

Call us immediately and bring the crown with you to the dental appointment.
